Hugo Boss is a great brand today. It’s the sort of marketable name that celebs want to be attached to, however, no famous face would have wanted to be seen wearing these guy’s clothes back in the 1940s when Hugo Boss was attached to the Nazi party.
Hugo himself designed the uniforms worn by Nazis and the Gestapo troops so they always looked fabulous while marching Jews into gas chambers or while gunning down innocent citizens in the streets. That aside, the worst thing to report about Hugo Boss is that the firm used prisoners of war as slave labour to produce their garments.
It’s said that Hitler had a picture on his desk of himself with Hugo so perhaps their partnership was as much business as pleasure.
