Game of Thrones
When you’re the leading stars on a major hit TV show that’s shown around the world, you’d expect to be remunerated well. In the case of Game of Thornes, when your job prospects aren’t all that great because your character could be stabbed in the back or blown up at any point, we’d expect superstar salaries to be handed out like candy on Halloween. Thankfully the major players on the TV best and most popular show at the moment earn really well.
Let’s face a few facts here – being paid well is part of the territory when you’re involved in such a massive hit. While it can’t really be argued that any of the actors generate commercial interest in the project as major Hollywood stars do, they all play their part. And more importantly, they’ve all helped lay the groundwork that any successful series is based on.
The Express got hold of some numbers that at first glance seem alarmingly high. Perhaps the reason the latest season only contained 7 episodes is down to the inflated wages paid to the show’s stars. Let’s hope that didn’t play a part but it could be argued that HBO can only afford to set aside a certain amount of cash for the season and if they had to pay more to get the stars of the show back onboard, then they’d have to make fewer episodes.
