Rarest 1p coin
Can you believe that a small bronze coin that’s normally lost down the sofa or dropped into a money jar can be worth as much as £50? Before you get all excited and break open your kid’s money bank, let’s make it clear that the 1p coins we’re talking about here are extremely rare. We guess that’s got to be obvious given the amount it’s worth to collectors.
The valuable batch date from 1971 to 1981 so there must be a fair few of these floating around the country. The coins in this batch have a particular feature that makes them worth a mint. What makes them special is the fact that they were the very first pennies to be introduced to the UK after decimalisation.
