China is known for their counterfeit goods. Whenever you go to any market, there are rip offs of some famous brands that can be purchased for a discounted price. But over the years China has taken the counterfeiting to a new level with trying to re-create entire towns from around the world.
Lying in the northeast part of China lies an old port city that has turned into a Florentine Village, or at least has tried to. The Italian real estate developer, RDM, and American Waitrex Group invested 1 billion yuan ($154 million) into creating a recreation of an Italian Florentine Village. It even has an outlet mall containing brands such as Armani, Burberry, Gucci and Prada. While walking around this area, visitors will see fountains, canals and shops, but might not come across that many people.
