As a child, and for many even as adults, it is easy to take things for granted. If you are out of milk or hungry you can simply jump in the car and head to the local shop to top up. If you don't know the answer to something, just pull out your phone and somewhere on the world wide web, the answer can be found. Want to put on comfy clothes, head to your closet and pull out a hoodie and sweatpants. But all of these simple things that we wouldn't think twice about aren't that easy for everyone, especially in North Korea. here are 6 things that are hard to come by in this country that is run under the dictatorship of Kim Jung-Un.
While it is not a necessity for some and is unhealthy for everyone, Coca-cola is undeniably the best-selling soft-drink in the world. But there are 2 countries where this brand does not have any operations; one being Colombia and the other, North Korea, both of which have sanctions put in place and imposed by the United Nations. But there is often a way around rules for better or worse. Coke is often bottled in China but disguised under a Chinese label which easily makes its way to the North Korean capital of Pyongyang. In many of the upscale grocery stores and international hotels, this product can be found. But there is little chance any of the lower class will get their hands on this fizzy drink.
