Tenerife is the largest Canary Island in Spain, just off the coast of Africa. It has a unique landscape that changes from north to south and is perfect for those that love beaches, hiking, swimming and exploring.
Teide National Park
The most popular and noticeable activities to do in Tenerife is to visit Mount Teide which is in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Teide National Park. The volcano has a 10-mile wide crater and is located right in the middle of the island towering at 12,198 feet above sea level. It is Spain's highest peak and the 3rd largest in the world.
If hiking up the volcano seems a bit too daunting, no problem. There is a cable car that you can take which will get you up much more quickly and much less sweaty.
