Meghan Markle hasn't taken long to lay the law down with her new hubby if recent reports can be believed. She's stopped the prince from enjoying some of the basic pleasures everyday folk rely on to get them through their day. Granted, being a prince means that you don't really need caffeine to get through a day at work after a sleepless night but Harry's a coffee lover and that's just one of the things his new wife's made him give up.
Diana once famously said that Harry "…is very like me - emotional, physically demonstrative and, given the opportunity, quite naughty. He doesn't mind doing anything - and only thinks about the consequences afterwards." That sounds very much like the old Harry who used to drink too much and tear up places. When he was on holiday in Spain's Costa del Sol at the age of 17, he took great joy in driving a golf cart around the course using his golf club like a polo stick. It churned up the grass but the teenage prince didn't care that he was ruining the course for other users because he didn't care about other people in those days. During that same holiday, he would stay up till 6am drinking and smoking in bars and didn't care that the paparazzi were picturing every sordid detail of his binges. Markle's already got Harry to give up smoking, which is obviously a good thing, but she didn't stop there.
Whether you take the Costa del Sol stories as examples of a carefree man or an arrogant adolescent, one thing's for sure – Harry is quite a character. When he was 20, he got involved in a scuffle outside a nightclub in the early hours when photographers wouldn't take no for an answer. When paparazzi attempted to take photos of the drunken prince as he left Pangaea in the West End of London he lashed out. The palace said he was defending himself and in an official statement they claimed: "Prince Harry was hit in the face by a camera as photographers crowded around him as he was getting into a car" which could justify his behaviour if it were true. The photographer in question, Chris Uncle, says the opposite, claiming that the young prince "deliberately lashed out" at him. He claims that royal protection officers clawed Harry off him and ushered the young prince to an awaiting car. It was such a serious incident that the photographer reported it to the police, although he didn't press charges. There's no chance of Harry repeating the event because his missus has banned him from drinking.
