How has the son of one of the most popular people of all time become a figure of ridicule? Harry and Meghan's diva behaviour is feeding the tabloid press and social media with enough content to last a lifetime. Meghan's insistence that a tennis fan should back away and not photograph her at Wimbledon was hilarious because the man in question didn't even know who she was and he was taking a selfie so his camera wasn't pointed in her direction at all. But what about Harry's request when he visited a hotel recently?
Is the diva behaviour a sign that the prince's wife can't cope with the additional limelight that comes from being a princess? She was already a minor TV actress who would have been recognised in the street from time to time but she wasn't a major movie star who would be recognised everywhere she went so perhaps the sudden uplift in attention has got to her. The arrival of the couple's first child also appears to be a factor as the pair have upped the diva behaviour since Archie arrived in May 2019.
Markle has been renamed "Duchess Difficult" by the press following a series of diva antics that must be making the Queen blush. She's even upset Princess Kate, which won't endear the American actress to the British public. The spat over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid's dress made Prince William's wife cry. Her demand to wear a tiara for her wedding was met with disdain and her insistence that her immediate family's privacy should be protected appears to be at odds with her public duty as a princess in the British royal family.
Can we not use plastic?
The Duke of Sussex doesn't seem to have the same sort of demands as his wife. He doesn't go around the globe on royal engagements that much but when he does, he has an unusual request for hoteliers. It doesn't like plastic and he doesn't want it used unnecessarily as Harry's friend Nacho Figueras revealed to CBS News. Figueras said that the prince, "talked to a person and said, ‘This morning I got my coffee and I saw that you have a plastic thing on the coffee. And then I also sent my shirt and I got my shirt in a big plastic bag.'" To us, this doesn't sound like the sort of diva behaviour the prince and his wife have become known for.
