At the moment, there are 30,626 Starbucks outlets across the globe. You can't go anywhere without seeing the famous white and green logo, but most people think their coffee's a bit mediocre when you read reviews. If Starbucks are the McDonald's of coffee houses as some reviewers believe, they make a lot of money from making mediocre products. Which three should you try and which three should you avoid at all costs?
Order cold brew
If you want to drink coffee from Starbucks, you can avoid the mediocre stuff by opting for a cold brew. Why not try a Nariño 70 cold brew? The beans are left in cold water for 20 hours which creates a smooth, non-acidic taste. You could also try the nitro cold brew with sweet cream. It has 70 calories, which is a lot less than a skinny latte, but you get a smooth and creamy taste.
Order iced latte
For less fat and sugar than a regular latte, order an iced latte. You'll still get the caffeine hit you need in the morning but without the sugars that slow you down in the long run. You can go ultra-low fat by adding skimmed milk, but if you order with standard milk, the iced latte has 60 calories fewer than the regular hot drink.
Order Americano
While the Americano is nothing special, it's got all the caffeine your body needs. The standard Americano has two shots of espresso and water. That's all it is. If you want more of a hit, opt for the grande Americano with a third expresso shot. That's got fewer calories than any other grande drink. If you need milk, add in half and half, and you'll still intake a lot fewer calories than a latte as this drink's got 40 calories and one gram of fat.
