Carling Black Label
On some days a cool drink isn’t enough to quench your thirst and only a beer will do but which beers are best? We’ve picked out 6 beers that are great on whether it’s a long winter’s evening or a bright sunny day with a braai. Some of the names on this list won’t be too much of a surprise to you but we’ve tried to select one or two that you might not automatically pick up from your local Pick n Pay.
Today, SA drinkers account for 34% of the continent’s beer market and that’s expected to grow by between 8 and 10% in the next five years. Back in 2012, beer consumption was 60 litres per capita. That’s nearly 3 times the global average of 22 litres per person.
South African Breweries control the majority of the market today because they have the biggest brands including Castle, Liberado, Flying Fish, Jacob’s Pal Ale and Carling Black Label. You won’t be surprised to read that two of these make this list, which is in no particular order.
Carling Black Label is their most popular brand. Not only is it popular with drinkers, it’s also popular when awards are being handed out. This beer is currently SA’s most prestigious because of the 20 international beer awards it’s already won.
